The International Seminar on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment is part of Project 3RsPCs – Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, which searches for adequate environmental solutions for electronic waste. This project is an initiative of the Government of Mines through Fundação Estadual do Meio Ambiente – FEAM (the State Natural Environment Foundation) and Centro Mineiro de Referência em Resíduos (Minas Gerais State Solid Waste Reference Center).
With the development of Project 3RsPCs, it was verified that there was a need for getting to better know what is done in Brazil and in the world with regards to waste electrical and electronic equipment, and promoting interaction among the various parties involved in the matter, such as researchers, electrical and electronic equipment producer companies, electronic waste recycling companies, and the State.
The purpose of this seminar, therefore, is to gather the various sectors involved in waste electrical and electronic equipment in Brazil, and bring successful cases in e-waste management from abroad, thus promoting dialogue and the sharing of of local and international experiences, approaching subjects such as: management systems, technologies, and conscious consumption.experiences.
We invite the government, business, academic and civil society sectors to participate in this seminar, in the best traditions of the environmental policy of the State of Minas Gerais of extensively and cooperatively discussing public policy proposals.
